Category:Massive stars
From MassiveWiki
Massive, unevolved stars - those of the early (O & B) spectral types - are characterized by large luminosities (in excess of 100 times solar) and hot surface temperatures (typically, above 15,000K). Although accounting for only a small percentage of the luminous matter in galaxies, massive stars throughout their lives contribute a disproportionate amount of energy, momentum, and chemically-enriched elements to their surroundings, and are prime drivers of galactic evolution.
